3D EPOXY FLOORS

They say sidewalk art is responsible for our society’s current 3D epoxy floor craze.

Even though street painting started in Italy in the 16th century, it wasn’t until the 1980s when artist Kurt Wenner introduced Italian street painting at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

Today's popular sidewalk art can be traced back to they can be traced back to Kurt Wenner.
Each year sidewalk art festivals throughout the US celebrate this unique art form that mesmerizes viewers into a beautiful surreal world.

And now, you can bring this world right into your restaurant with epoxy 3D flooring!

It doesn’t matter if you have a floor made of wood, laminate or even rubber, no floor is comparable to a realistic 3D epoxy floor in a dining area.

Image plants, animals, fish, corals, and even waves that rise from the floor as customers enter your restaurant.

Don't Forget About Restrooms Too!

Another area that makes sense for epoxy floors in your restaurant is the restroom. There are many coating designs, including coral reef scenes, beaches, and dolphins.

You choose the image which is then printed on a special 3D printer and adjusted to the size and architecture of the area.

There are plenty of beautiful things you can do with 3D epoxy flooring. You can literally go wild.

Your staff will discover cleaning the 3D floor takes minimal effort. A simple swipe of a cleaning cloth is all it takes.

The epoxy floor is also waterproof, does not retain spot stains, and therefore does not require any specific care.

Think about having us apply epoxy paint coatings in your outdoor areas also providing your customers an immediate positive experience.

Two Types of Epoxy 3D Flooring

3D epoxy flooring is a liquid plastic coating that is applied with two basic types.

Self-leveling Technique

The first type is self-leveling, where a large print of a photograph is inserted in a layer of primer. We then add the image in the penultimate segment, before the superficial glassy one.

This type of system provides a real 3D effect, especially when looking at the image from a specific point in the room.

This technique is used by various designers around the world to create vivid, colorful flooring and above all, with effects in 3D realistic, mind-blowing dimensions.

We then treat the floor with a transparent two-component epoxy or polyurethane to give the perfect image depth. A level of protective varnish is the final step.

Self-leveling epoxy is an epoxy flooring that can be applied to concrete floors to form a durable, low-maintenance floor surface. You can even apply it to old, cracked, and damaged concrete floors to create a smooth, clean surface. This is because the epoxy spreads during the application to fill cracks on the floor,

The self-leveling epoxy flooring is used in many forms, including commercial, industrial, and residential applications. We recommend self-leveling epoxy flooring for a wide range of industries and buildings, including:

  • Warehouses
  • Retail Stores
  • Commercial Garages
  • Commercial Kitchens
  • Hospitals
  • Airplane Hangars
  • Gymnasiums

If you are wanting to take your restaurant to the next level by transforming your floors into a artful design, our self-leveling epoxy flooring application is ideal for you.

Multilevel Technique

Multilevel floors require careful preparation. We apply three levels: 1) the primer 2) the image or design, and 3) the last level, which is usually 1.5 to 2 mm based on transparent epoxy composition.

Following the application of these three-floor levels, it takes about two or three days for the external layer to completely dry. Our last step is to apply a polyurethane enamel finishing.

We have thousands of colors to choose from for your multilevel floor where any photo can be used to create the 3D effect.

Metallic Epoxy

Epoxy metallic floors are an excellent choice for decorating your restaurant.

A metallic looking floor provides character and interest for your restaurant.
Instead of having cookie-cutter floors like every other restaurant, imagine having a metallic floor that reflects your menu’s personality and wows your diners.

The last layer of an epoxy floor is the metallic paint coating, which creates a distinctive and impressive appearance in your home or commercial space.

Adding Aesthetic Depth

Metallic epoxy paint differs significantly from other flooring materials.

This type of flooring is obtained by mixing different products such as epoxy, a hardener, with minerals that increases its resistance to wear.

We can also add other additives as well as metallic dyes and even glitter!

This type of epoxy is brighter than polished or smooth concrete making it very trendy to install in homes, businesses, and public places.

However, metallic epoxy floors are frequently being added to homes because of its strength and neat finish.

The metallic epoxy is applied by a roller or brush for thin layers. We use a trowel or notched spatula for thicker layers.

Besides being distinguished by its color variety and patterns, it has a complementary feature to your home or commercial decorations.

Like all epoxy floors, durability is also a helpful feature. Metallic epoxy paint is preferred because it can add depth to the area. Unlike standard epoxy paints, it has a patterned color that makes the floor impressive.

Most people chose a cloudy pattern, but we can use different decorations with varying techniques of painting. This type of application is especially prevalent in office buildings.

Metallic Epoxy Paint

The metallic epoxy paint is a unique coating system that provides 3D appearance thanks to reflective pigments and aesthetic effects.

Because of its unique formulation, it does not contain any harmful or flammable solvents or volatile substances. According to the application technique to be used, showrooms, offices, cafes, and restaurants are the ideal system for every kind of floor you can think of.

Metallic epoxy paint benefits are:

  • Decorative and special
  • Thin thickness class
  • Resistant to friction, impact, and abrasion
  • Easy to clean and practical
  • Quick and easy to apply
  • Easy to maintain and repair
  • High adhesion to the floor

DIY Epoxy 3D Flooring: Blunders to Avoid

If you are planning a DIY epoxy floor, you should keep reading to avoid these common errors.

Poor Floor Prepping

Incorrectly preparing the floor or not preparing it at all is probably the most common blunder DIYers experience.

For this reason, you should make sure the surface is free of oils, waxes, and other contaminants.

Contaminants cause the paint to pull away, especially if moisture is left on the concrete.

Other blunders DIYers need to avoid are:

  • Trying to stretch the epoxy paint out if you are running low.
  •  Trapping air in the epoxy by mixing it too quickly.
  •  Not allowing the newly coated floor to dry properly.

The bottom line is that 3D metallic floors are challenging to install. Having professionals do the job instead makes sense, saving you time and money.

However, some of us love to tackle DIY projects on our own.

See our response here to a question we received recently from a small restaurant owner.

Q: I’m trying to add some excitement to my small sandwich shop. I am considering applying some epoxy paint to the floor. Any tips from this “I can do anything” warrior?

A: Good for you for recognizing the need for a new look. Most people don’t consider improving their small restaurant floors, even though that is the first thing customers see.

Even small sandwich shops deserve a high-quality showroom floor that wows your customers.
